Independence Day is happening! If you’re in Los Angeles, thank the heavens, because there’s no better place to be on Fourth of July than in the City of Angels.
Check out all the cool, fun, and mostly free U.S. Independence Day activities you can do around Los Angeles.
Celebrate Independence Day with the best things about summer in LA
A non-working holiday in a city known for its endless summer, make the most of your Fourth of July vacay while doing every lit summer must-do in the City of Angels.
Sunbathe all day in any of LA’s beautiful beaches. Whether you want it to be a quiet alone time, an all-out surfer escapade, or a blast with friends and family, Los Angeles won’t let you down. Take your pick from El Matador Beach, Malibu Surfrider Beach, Santa Monica Beach, and a whole lot more.
Drive around town for the yummiest ice cream shops. We hear Wanderlust Creamery, McConnell's Fine Ice Creams, and Sweet Rose Creamery are just some top choices getting raves online.
Witness the vibrant Fourth of July Parade at the Palisades
An LA tradition that dates back 69 years ago, Pacific Palisades boasts of its world-class community parade, which features not only merry marching bands and baton twirlers, but mind you, skydivers to kick start the festivities. Admission is free to the parade, but 50 dollars for a VIP grandstand seat seems worth it, too. Sample food trucks all day and end your 4th of July with a concert and a fireworks display in the evening.
Watch spectacular fireworks shows
Independence Day won’t be complete without sparks of red, white, and blue up in the sky. Lucky you, Los Angeles will be fully booked that day with magnificent 4th of July fireworks displays in a number of premium locations in town.
We recommend the Rose Bowl Stadium, which comes with inflatable rides and exciting games, a plus factor, if you’re coming with your kids, or while overlooking the ocean at the Fisherman’s Village at Marina del Rey or at Long Beach.
What? Got to stay at home on the Fourth of July? No problem.
Create your own floral fireworks by filling it up with our festive floral arrangements. Send one to friends and family, too. Same day delivery is available in Los Angeles and Orange County.
