Which Orchid Represents Your Favorite GoT Character?

The final season of Game of Thrones is currently the talk of the Internet. With a great storyline combined with breathtaking locations and brilliant actors, there is no arguing that George R.R. Martin’s medieval masterpiece is one of the best TV series we’ve ever set eyes on and no wonder why and how it has gotten almost everybody completely hooked.

To satisfy your GoT cravings, just for the fun of it, we've matched popular Game of Thrones female characters with different types of orchids based on their personalities. Check them out.

Daenerys Targaryen - Vanda Orchids

The last living descendant of House Targaryen, we’ve seen Daenerys bloom from an innocent and helpless little princess bossed around by all the men in her life to a powerful queen who is adored by many and gets what she wants. She wears her many titles like a shining crown, including Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Queen of the Andals, Mother of Dragons, and the Unburnt.

Unflinching under heat or fire, in the orchid world, Daenerys is a Vanda orchid. Like her, Vanda orchids are one of the special orchid genera that thrive under full sun or, at least, 5,000 foot candles, according to experts. Vanda orchid flowers come in an array of gorgeous colors with deep blue and purple as the most beautiful. Purple flowers symbolize regalness and royalty. A fitting tribute to Daenerys who is a true royal.

Sansa Stark - Lady Slipper Orchids

The muse of Winterfell, Sansa Stark has always been highly regarded because of her fairness since she was young. Raised a proper lady, she is a vision of feminine grace with the makings of a future queen.

Sansa’s orchid is the Lady Slipper Orchids. They are both dainty and delicate with showy blooms that stand out from the crowd. Fun fact: Sansa’s own direwolf is named Lady.

Because of their exquisite looks, Lady Slipper orchids are considered to be the most highly illustrated and photographed orchid plants or flowering plants. Based on the account of the Royal Botanical Gardens Kew Science, the earliest record of the Lady Slipper orchid (Cypripedium calceolus) is a fine watercolor illustration by Conrad Gessner back in 1541. Unfortunately, his work was not published until the 18th Century by Camerarius.

Arya Stark - Phalaenopsis Orchids

Arya Stark is the exact opposite of her sister, Sansa. In the novel and in the series, she is depicted as an intelligent young woman and a brave and bold fighter. She has shown unfathomable resilience in the face of danger and adversities.

Because of this, we believe Arya Stark is a Phalaenopsis orchid. Low-maintenance, robust, adapts easily, and beyond beautiful.  Phalaenopsis can adapt to new environments and rebloom again and again with proper care. They have big, bold blooms that are simply impossible to ignore.
